Taking Woodstock: Ang Lee’s Taking Woodstock Trailer Out Now

Based on Elliot Tiber memior, Taking Woodstock: A True Story of a Riot, a concert, and a life, the comedy tells the story of Mr. Tiber, who played a central role, but unexpected for the 1969 Woodstock Music and Arts Festival in the famous happening it was. Taking Woodstock is directed by Oscar winning filmmaker Ang Lee of “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, “Hulk”, “Brokeback Mountain” and “Lust, Caution”. The screenplay was written by Lee’s writing partner James Schamus, of “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, “Hulk”, and “Lust, Caution”. This is based on Elliot Tiber, Tom Monte’s book of the same name. In addition to Demetri Martin, Eugene Levy, Imelda Staunton, Emile Hirsch, Liev Schreiber, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and a boat load of other players. Focus Features, which will be bringing Taking Woodstock to limited theaters on August 14.

I see Demetri spelled as “Dimitri” lots of places – but it’s “Demetri.” Meanwhile, be sure to read the Elliot Tiber memoir on which this film is based before it comes out this summer – the book is a real trip!!
